Trapped In The Random Lakehouse – SSW

I was walking around the path until I saw a small creepy house in the middle of a lake.I went to have a look but i was too scared because there was something going on with the house/treehouse.While i was walking near the house I heard a knock behind me.I wanted to check it out but it was dark that time, when i opened the door I saw heaps of dirty and old dusty stuff on a shelf and on the floor.

When I went to have a look there was a noise coming from behind me.I was really scared because there was no food or water or nobody to protect me,I wanted to run home but it was dark so I had no choice but to stay here and sleep on the floor. It was the next day and i was disgusted with all the spiders and the dusty stuff all over the roof,It was really bad.

While I was walking out to the door I couldn’t open,I couldn’t find any entry but the front door.I was very scared someone might come and eat me, kidnap me or KILL ME!!!!.I was trying to find something too open,I checked around the draws, under the shelfs, and under the tables but I couldn’t find anything and it was already noon.

I was very frustrated and scared. I had nowhere to escape and the only thing I could escape from was the window and the front door.I tried to climb out the window but the windows were too small.I was so mad i couldn’t get help, every night i would shout for help and cried every night i was hungry and thirsty.

It was the third day and I still couldn’t find anywhere to escape.I haven’t had dinner and my stomach was rumbling so much that i almost puked on the floor. It was almost night and still haven’t found the keys to open the door,While i was searching I heard a knock behind me.I was so scared i quickly look back but there was nothing behind me,so i went to check out the window but I couldn’t see because it was too dark outside.

It was already midnight and dark so I went to sleep and waited until the morning. It was another day in the Abandon lakehouse and I still had no escape but I heard a knock on the door so I decided to open it.I checked out side and i saw my dad,he had a big smile he told me he forgot his car keys because he was gone for a vacation for 5 days but finally he came back, but i didn’t know it was him so i ran back home to my mum and saw my mum and my little brother. They told me how worried they were tried to find me for along time, but now I am here I am happy back with my family.I didn’t know where my Dad went next but all I wanted was to be back with my Mum and my brother.

The End.

Ki Orahi

On the 13th of May,Room 6,7,and 8’s got a chance to have a Ki O Rahi tournament. On Morning Tea time my teacher Mr Bell organised us in our teams. After morning tea the Room 6,7 and 8’s all got in our house colours. The first team to play was,Kauri vs Rata. When they were on the field, the rest of the teams had to wait for there turn to play. When Kauri vs Rata finished playing.

When we went out Kauri was so happy that they won.The second game was Totora vs Rimu. When they started playing i was cheering and screaming so loud. When the second game ended I was so happy that Totora won.The third game was Totora vs Kauri and was time for me to play for Totora.

I was so proud of myself because I got 3 scores in a row but in the end we lost. Our last game for the morning was against Rata vs Rimu. Some players had to go on Rata’s team because there were not enough people in their team but sadly Rata lost. Then we had our Lunch time.

During lunch we practised our Ki O Rahi and got ready for our fifth game. When the bell rang,I was nervous because I was playing the last game. The fifth game was RImu vs Kauri.I didn’t know what team i was rooting for because both team are good,so i decided to root for Kauri.

I was so happy for Kauri because they won against Rimu. The last game was against Totara vs Rata,I was so nervous because they might win. I was really mad at Rata because their team cheated but we still won. At the end of all the games the coaches and Mr Bell were given time to announce the winning team of the Ki O’Rahi. I was so proud of Kauri because they won. Then we went home.

Epro8

On Monday the 8th of May we arrived at school and saw 6 big black boxes that was supposed to be a challenge.Epro 8 is a fun engineering and building challenge. When the bell rang for learning my teacher put us into our groups and gave us a booklet each. When everyone was organised in there groups my teacher introduced the year 6 what Epro8 is.

When we did some learning in our booklet we went to our tables and grabbed one of the black boxes and got started building. Our first build was a starting challange. We watched a video with our groups and got started building when we watched every step the video showed us.

My group and I started building. For our first build we built a box and learned how to use measurement. Eventually, we completed it but after our break time sadly we had to knock it down and get into our second building but first we had to learn and do some work in our booklets then got started building in our groups.

The work in our booklets were about measurement and a bit hard to build because we had to make it 700m long and 400m wide and it was very hard for my group because we had to do a lot of measuring. When we were done with our first building which was a tree hut  we were very proud of it because we managed to finish it before we go on to our last build.

Our last build was a dump truck,it was really hard for us because we had to make the tray flip but in the end we managed to get it done and take some photos at the end before we knocked it done and tidy up.After break time we had to tidy it up and finding the missing pieces and making sure all of them are in all the 6 black boxes. My favorite] part of Epro8 is we got to learn about measurement and doing engineering.

Fair Chocolate

Chocolate is made out of cacao beans. It takes 400 cocoa beans to make one pound of chocolate. Each cacao tree produces approximately 2,500 beans. It took eight years to develop the recipe for milk chocolate. The cacao beans are mostly in Africa and brought to Europe. People say that chocolates are fruits.

Sundays Jubilee

On Sunday 19th of March we had a Jubilee. The first thing we did in the morning is we had mass, and it was so crowded with students and parents, and there was a Tongan community that sang to us,they sound like angels. We also had a Samoan,Aotearoa, and a Tagalog Group that also joined us.

After mass we all headed to the hall and were ready to perform. We performed 3 songs which were Karanga E, Mo Marie, and the Irish blessing which was really fun. After we performed we had a culture dance and we had Tagalog first. One of the girls (Frances) in St Patrick’s school performed a beautiful song. I was so proud of her. Then we had the Tongan and Samoan dance. When they finished their dance they had a feed. I missed out on everything because I had to go home early but I really enjoyed Sunday.

Why We Should Learn To Control Pests

“Why We Should Learn To Control Pest.”

We Should learn to Control pests so It Doesn’t hurt or harm any animals to kill and survive.

Some animals that are harmed by pests can’t defend themselves, like Possums,Stoats,Rats and feral cats.

We were told that if you give Pests lots of Food and lots of water they get Stronger, Possums, get ready to hunt other animals,to kill and eat, that’s why,we use traps to kill Possums and see how much damage Pests do. Chris told us how we can tell when the pests are there because they have already been there.
